I am an independent inventor with two patents granted in late 2007. The US Patents are completely different devices that do the same thing, convert ocean waves into electricity. The inventions are “The Syphon Wave Generator” and “The Floating Wave Generator.” As an independent inventor I have very limited resources to build and test these units. I have built two working Syphon Wave Generators last summer to test and demonstrate how they work. The units were small demonstration generators with the generators inside clear pipe to show how they worked. Both units worked 100% and now need to be built in full scale. As for the floating wave generator, I am now building a small working demonstration unit for this summer. Videos of the building and testing of these Syphon Wave Generators can be seen at www.GEdwardCook.com
I am asking for your help! The Syphon Wave Generator could be a huge step in stopping global warming. In the interest of stopping global warming, I have decided not to patent the unit outside the USA and to licence the unit in the US with an open licence so anyone could build it in the US for a small fee. The units are so easy and inexpensive to build using mostly common materials. The smaller units producing 1kw to 10kw will be built by homeowners living near the ocean while large 100kw and larger units will be built in large fields by corporations and governments. These smaller units producing under 10k need to be built and tested around the world so people and groups could have plans to be able to build their own syphon wave generators at a low cost using common materials. Remember the Syphon Wave Generator will not be patented outside the USA so anyone may build and use it free outside the US.
I
am asking colleges and environmental groups around the world
to take on a project to build and test some smaller units of between 1kw
and 10kw. The scope of the project is much less than one might
expect with a cost of a few thousand dollars or less. The small demonstration
syphon wave generators in the video clips cost me less than $100 each to
build. The 1kw to 10kw units would consist of about 100 feet of 12" PVC
pipe with some fittings, 6 to 8 one way valves that could be easily made
with drawings I could supply at no cost and a prop driven generator.
The prop driven generator is the section that would take the most development.
The size of the prop being matched with the generator size and speed and
the size of the waves it would encounter would be the heart of the project.
The prop could be from a boat or could be made from sheet metal as I did
in the demonstration units. The generators could be made from car
alternators as the volts would be low enough to be safe. Car and
truck alternators are available around the world and produce about 1kw
to 10kw each, they could also be stacked together. It is important
that the materials are common and inexpensive so the units could be built
by people in less fortunate countries. The units only need to work for
a short time and could be tested on a beach with the units placed in the
surf just past the breaking waves. This could be just 100 feet from
shore. The units could also be tested in a wave tank with one
meter waves or hung from a pier.
I am offering 100 licences
to build any size Syphon Wave Generator in the US each to the first
two groups that build, test and document a working unit producing one kilowatt
of electricity or more. The winners may do as they please with these
licences. They may use, sell or just give them away. I will be selling
licences in the US for $100 for smaller units and up to $1,000 each for
large units so the 100 licences would be valued
at $10,000 to $100,000.
I hope you will take this challenge and join me in my quest to end global warming and make this planet a better place for our children.
Sincerely,
G Edward Cook
